第二天和第三天的气候很不错，我一路都在走着走着，也忘了看看路边的风景，一直往下看着自己的脚步。突然，老师的一句话：提醒了我看看旁边的美景，不要错过那些美好的风景。珍惜身边的每一个时刻。还有经理的一句话：做保险业这一行就是想我们爬山那样，一直的坚持，努力，终有一天会到达终点。看着那顶尖的山在远远的，离我很远。可我的脚步还是在走动着，脑袋一直在跟自己说话，加油！！走吧！！一定可以的！！不要放弃！！那时的脚步快要没力了，服吸有点幸苦，肚子不争气和气侯很冷。不过，这些都不会阻持我的脚步停此。要谢谢老师，Siew Ting,Chian Nii,Fu Yaw,Miing Rueng,Monica。保持着对方的距离，协助和确定各位的安全。我真的真的很谢谢你们！！！终于我们到了顶尖！！！感谢，感恩，感激，感动。祝大家身体健康！！ Mountain Kota Kinabalu , See You Again!!!
Mount Kinabalu challenge has been a great process for me.
It's a Great experience for myself and the whole team.
My Process :-
Many months of waiting : Very lucky that Family Support is there as well as Great Team Members. Preparation :
Undergo proper training and acquired difference experiences/advice, especially on weather and physically preparation.
Gather information from many parties: "LISTEN to YOUR BODY." Advice from Dr QUEK.
When reach KK :
Our mind started to get tension. *SEE YOU AT the TOP is our command GOAL*.
Now is the time, we had reached at mount KK. The mount KK is here and we are about to reached the top. Weather is on our side. Enjoyed every moment before go further.
Be ready MENTAL WARRIOR, only YOU will decide you are at the top now.
Love the Mother Nature, RESPECT will bring everyone to the top. Oh yes, This Is It. TEAMWORK showed from ODA had help us to the TOP of KK.

This is the second trip I join ODA and the first time to comment on ODA’s organized trip. After going through all the feedback written on this blog, I found that it is nothing much for me to write as those feedback had already described so well on how the trip went. Therefore I decided to write something that has left out from those feedback.
For those who do not know, actually me, jai wong and pss almost miss our flight to KK. We were late that day. When we reached Air Asia counter in order to collect our boarding pass, jai wong and pss were shock by seeing an empty counter. I can definitely sure that jai wong and pss must be sweating heavily on that particular moment :-P. Neither anyone was there lining up nor an air asia employee was there ready to serve us. That did not stop me from making fun by saying, “No worry! The counter hasn’t open”. The fact was the counter had closed 15 minutes ago and passengers were lining up at the gateway to the airplane. After that, we were running like mad person with our heavy backpack in the terminal in looking for assistant. Somehow or rather, finally we manage to make it all the way to KK smoothly and safely J.
There is a joke that I remembered during our journey to Laban Rata. We were resting at one of the pondok (can’t really remember which one), jai wong was telling us the his last trip to Bujang Melaka. He told us that after that trip when he get home, he was so hungry that he ate a chicken all by himself. Lau Si was so funny to say “Wah! Isn’t it you will dine a cow if you were to get back from Gunung Tahan’s trip”. Everyone was laughing then.
I am so proud of myself making it all the way to the top of south east asia, but there is a price to pay. I suppose you all experienced the same like me, our LEG. The day after we came down from mount KK, my leg was so painful that I could hardly walk. I was phobia of staircase for the past few days after the trip L.
Hiking mount KK is a must-try experience even I keep telling others “paying to suffer”. Anyway, really thank you to all ODA members especially my leader Monica. She is the one who chase me for the feedback :-P. Everyone, give a big clap to yourself J. ALRIGHT! I think this is all I can write. Looking forward for the next trip. See ya. Cheers!
Hi, everyone.....This is my second trip to Mount Kinabalu.... It make me remember the 1st trip to mount Kinabalu. I still remember my 1st trip to Mount Kinabalu....All the way from down to top and top to down it was raining day and make us cant reach the Low's Peak of Mount Kinabalu.... I still remember that night heavy rain cause us cant make it to the peak. That night I make a wish which I can reach the with all my Team member. My wish.... It really come true..
You can be anything you want to be, if only you believe with sufficient conviction and act in accordance with your faith; for whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.
We should think
"No matter how bad it is, and how bad it gets, I'm going to make it to the peak!"

Say hi to everyone, since trip until now 2 weeks but i feel my mind sometime still not coming back from the Mt KK there. This trip i am a bit special, because i m here since a year ago, thanks to my DEar ODA committees to have this tripso i have the chance step on this mountain again. Ehh.... the important one is meet all of you after a year.This also first mountain i am climbing on year 2010, haha really quite tough to me since my gain of"body".
This is my second time climbing the Mt.
KK since ODA 2007 KK trip, but at that trip we stop at the laban rata there because of heavy raining day at early morning.
What i remember at that trip we only have 10 person
join the trip, we carry everything for our own meal.
Everyone carry a big backpack, make the other climber
surprise when look at us. HAha this time we oni bring
our own small bag for picnic one, but still feel tough
for me because not fit enough than last time.
Since last early month i KK almost everyday raining and before a week of trip everyday is rain heavy i never meet since stay at kk, I decided inform nobody.
What i can say is the committees really choose the very very good day for the trip, dunno
there got find a master to decide the day not. IF not everyone oni can get the black and white certificate and the guide will tell come next time you can get the color one. This not important, the main is when people ask you do you climb the Mt. KK then how we need answer. Eh.. last time i choice to say
yes because at half of journey also Mt.KK. At this trip what i feel regret is not training well before go, all the way oni focus jalan then i cannot enjoy the beauty of nature. What in my mine oni i want reach the peak , then after come down baru ingat what i miss.
This trip really need to say thanks to the trip leader FY, our Advisor and commitees. Some of our committees and friends cannot attend the trip, but like our laoshi said mountain always be there, I send my best regard to everyone.
Never know that I would be there somedays... when I am still in secondary school, I heard my friends say about the beauty of Mount Kinabalu. Until after I join ODA, I heard their story of heavy raining non-stop from the day they reach Kinabalu and they are unable to reached Low's Peak due o bad weather. Until today I had been back from Mount Kinabalu, when see back the photo, I still not quite believe that I had been there and view the beauty of this highest mountain in Malaysia.
Before the trip, feel quite excited and waiting for the reach of the trip. My friends keep on telling me the beauty of Mt Kinabalu, I can see what at there, what I must try, need to bring what... My grandma also worry about me, when I am going to Liang East Liang West trip, she thoughts I am going to Mt Kinabalu, ask me why didn't bring more shirts... When the trip is comings, being very tension. When packing things, don't know what shirts should bring, suitable or not... Wrapping all the things with 3 layer of plastic bags cause scared of bad weather, keep on checking trip planning whether got bring all the items, borow hings for hose which I don't have... waiting for the time that ODAs can gather together and also meet Miing Rueng...
This time almost all of ODAs joining the trip except for Gah Gee and Sian Seong. Thanks ODA for giving me this opportunity to join the trip and reach submit together with you all. While hiking up to Laban Rata, really enjoy the time of being together with ODA, hiking together, those jokes, taking care of each others, sharing loads and foods, apple. And also when staying at Rock Hostel, although the time is short, but yet I had charge full battery at that moment. Thanks for all the moment! When hiking behind manager, he didn’t stop much, but just continue walking. When reach shelter, he will check on each AN1 member, send some warm regards, having jokes with them and then continue journey again. He is a very well and good leader with caring heart and strong determination.
We had a very good weather at Gunting Lagadan Hut, blue sky, clear mountain view (sometimes) and also not forget cold weather.
That day midnight, most of us can’t sleep well, waiting for the time to reach. After getting the permit hike to the peak, everyone listen to the guide briefing seriously and then depart. During hiking to the peak, Lao Shi keep check on us whether we got follow or not, how is everyone’s condition and in the mean time she had to keep an eye on manager. Lao Shi, really thanks so much. After reading of Pang’s blog, tears drop because having the same feeling. You are so tired already, but still think of us. And also manager, he just keep on walking, when rest, he standing there rest for awhile only and then continue journey. Admire of his spirit. And on that morning, although we are not able to witness the sunrise, but I think that’s not our target as the most important are WE together reach this beautiful land. And have a fun time on the photo session!
Hereby wish to thanks everyone who had send their regards and also help us pray for good weather prior and during our trip. A thousand thank you to trip leader Fu Yaw who had done a great job either at trip planning, communication before trip, transportation arrangement and many many other things which he had done but we didn't saw it. Never expect that I will be standing on top of South East Asia Peak again, if not because of ODAs keep on insist and believe that I will be part of the team on this expedition, especially Trip Leader Fu Yaw and Siew Ting who always make sure my name is in the trip planning, update with me on every single occurrence for the past 6 months, I am very sure my part will be just hearing the joys from them after trip rather
than touching the Summit along with them.
4th time to Mt Kinabalu, Magnificent Viewawaiting,Thin Air Challenge,Cold Weather Shivering, Nearly Torn Out Knee, walk like Penguin after trip are part of Mt KinabaluRewards and Endurance.
The key that unlock my gateway to Mt KK is mainly because of there is a person name Lim Kwee Kiat is in the participant's list, who refuse to withdrawn himself from this expedition even though after many months of efforts in order to defeat his confident by saying that It's is mission "ImPossible" for him. In return, he tells me that he is "I'm Possible"!!! For him, I truly salute his determination, he has greater determination that anyone else I known so far, or else he would not able 100% fully recovered from his sudden critical physical illness condition back then in 2008 and Reached South East Asia Highest Peak as any other healthy person.
25 steps before we touched the steel plate, my tears drop. The tears wasn't about I'm almost reaching Low's Peak, reaching or not reaching Low's Peak actually is not my main mission to Sabah. The tears was the release of tension, and unbelievable feeling that I actually witnessing 2nd brother is on top of South East Asia Highest Peak and we made it to the top together!!!!
It is ironic that being as ODA adviser, I refuse to bring my own brother to this mountain. But after the trip, I am glad that We Made it to Low's Peak together. If without the INSISTS from Fu Yaw and the rest of the ODA, the support they have given to me during the whole trip, I don't think I have the courage to once again step on Low's Peak along with my own brother.
Days prior to this expedition, PST had taken out all the raincoats she has collected for years and she tells me that she still having ~~Nightmare~~ on 2007 ODA Mt KK expedition and She rather bring more than enough better than being sorry if the weather turns bad... An ODA who been to more than 70 expedition within 5 years, attempted Mt KK before is afraid of bad weather.... PLUS, She is worried on a few members who refuse to follow ODA's advise to conduct any serious training prior trip might have difficulty to reach the Peak along with the rest of the members .For amateur hiker, maybe they will think that Mt KK is an easy mountain, refuse to have proper preparation and refuse to being serious and being responsible for themselves and others. For Professional Hiker, they know that "For Every Success Expedition, Proper Preparation is the KEY to complete a Successful Expedition. For 2010 ODA Mt KK members who successfully witnessed/touched Low's Peak Steel Plate, knows that the pre Mt KK training and proper preparation efforts have payoff well ~~~ Congrats to each of you!!!!
It would be PERFECT if 24 out of 24 members successfully complete the mission together with the good weather condition. For our members who witness Low's Peak via others photo only, I hope and wish someday, somehow you will get to see the real Low's Peak by your own eyes and always remember, TRAINING and PREPARATION are the key for everything you wish to achieve in your life.
2010 June ODA Mt. KK Expedition has Extra-Ordinary Meaning to me compare to previous Mt KK trip. Finally after 3 years, we have returned and able to complete the whole expedition in good condition. The wish I've made 3 years ago at Laban Rata had comes true, which someday somehow

24 of us with different background, different history but we have SHARED ONE Common Goal.
Mount Kinabalu is one of the anticipated mountain that i wish to visit since i was a young boy..because of ODA i was able to visit this childhood mountain of mine. Really grateful :)..... Yes, i can go anytime..but sometimes it is not the destination, it is who we go with.....maybe all this years i am waiting to go Mount KK with the right Team & right Person...although it is just a short trip, it is a meaningful one.(Just SAYANG ah seong cant join us this time).... Lucky and grateful for us this year ODA expedition we are able to reach the top with great weather and return safely. First of all would like to thank ODA, Lausi, Pang, Miing Rueng, Chianni, Bee Suan, Monica, Jimmy that give me the support for organizing this trip and also not forgetting blessings from Huay Woon and Ah Seong...although he is not with us, i know his heart is with us....because he kept sms us...lol.......(Dont worry next time if u go we will go with you...just maybe we will wait at KK park....haha). Without ODA this trip would not be as smooth as it be. Besides that would like to thank all 2010 Mount KK participant for joining us..hope all of you have a good time there....some say word is nothing compare to a picture..hope all of you remember the scenery at the peak....let our heart be as wide a KK Mount Peak...special thanks to all of the members that cooperated/help each others out and also on time at the right time and right place. Also special thanks to Jaiwong that help us take alot of pictures only you can do it.....that means every trip you have to come ...haha.. Congratulation to all of us, we tried out best and prepared for the summit attempt and finally we reach the summit. There is no such thing as whether we can or cannot reach..it is just you want it badly or it just nevermind..(Salute to Er Ge, push to the limit and reach the summit!!).
Mount KK is an easy but tough mountain as Miss Lim said. Why easy, because the trail to summit is ready made into stairs, we do not have to carry our foods up, can hire porter to carry out bags too . So why it is tough? Because of altitude effects, long hours of hike up, the cold and our stamina to support the long hours of hiking. Easy but tough ..do we need preparations?? YES. We need training, in life what things that need not preparations??....Lucky for all of us, ODA have done our preparations and ready for this expedition and finally we reach the top ..:) Through this trip too we saw a lot of human's nature.... Such as at the peak there, group of people that reach there earlier would not give ways for the later person that arrive to take photos....just stand there/sit there beside the ridge!!! Imagine if someone accidentally slipped and pushed the guy down....After taking photos, we leave to let other person turn to take photos....Besides that, during the way up and down, we saw alot of porters carrying foods, rubbish up and down Laban Rata. Makes me feel that different lives have different choices, it is just how we live our lives to the most and work hard for it.
Lastly, it is a nice, meaningful trip..that all of us can gather back and hike together..no matter what obstacle ahead we will settle it and move on !!! See you guys soon !!!! Cheers !!!

Congratulation25 members and 3 association here to achieve their dreams. Standing on the top of South East Asia - Mount Kinabalu on June 6,2010. Outdoor Discovery Adventure (ODA),Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB- Team AN1), and Young Malaysia Movement (YMM)!!!!
Before came to Mount Kinabalu, we have get ready for pass half year. Included booking flight ticket, booking for the seat to get in Mount KK, dealing with the agency here regarding the best price of accomodation, foods, transportation arrangement for 2 different groups arrival in KK. In the main time to provide training for KK members and etc. All the hiden things have to get ready as most of us didnt realized and know about it. It is not a simple tasked for organized a Mount KK expedition with a huge group of members. Here, i would like to salute our ODA 2010 Mount KinabaluTrip Leader - How Fu Yaw, a.k.a ODA Master for the whole KK trip preparation. With his capable performance, well communication and dealing skills we are no worry anythings. As we know, most of the obstacles comes he will settle it and get it done. Thumbs up!!!! ;)
Today - June 4, is a great day for everyone of us. We depart from Kuala Lumpur to Sabah with a blessing and wishes from all ODA friends - Huay Woon, Jie Ng, Simpson, Harry, Chin Peng, Ser Siew, Jie Yi, Chee Loong, Kwang Leong, and family members. Miing Rueng and Fu Yaware get ready at KK airport to pick up us for Sabah Seafood. The speical and good taste of Sabah seafood are really make us unforgotable. After that, we depart to Nabalu, stay 1 night at KK park. Is a enjoyed night to hang out with everyone!!!
June 5- Is a Sunny day at KK park!!! I am feel really joyful and great today. Early morning we have went to restaurant to take breakfast. After that, we gather at Timpohon gate to listen our guide briefing. Our guide told us the trails all the way up and where to take our lunch. In the main time, he remind us don't get over excited inside Mountain. Or talked too loud to disturb other hikers as well. All the way up to the staircase, we have stopped few times to take a rest and enjoyed the scenery. our guide has remind us not to rest too long in order to keep our stamina to go up. I think we have too long didnt catch up with Miing Rueng. Everyone keep on up date him our news in ODA and joking with him. Cause worry he stay too long at Sabah cant catch up with us ;p
Finally round 2.30pm everyone has sucessful reached Laban Rata!!! It is not a easy climb with all the non stop staircase climb up as compared with others Mountain. That is really make us exhausted and leg sour. However, with our playful character 3 of us still insist want to jump up to take a picture.
For whoever want to join Mount Kinabalu expedition, i am strongly recomment must do physical training. Or else, u must have a very strong mentality that can keep u walking like "Er Ge" - Mr Lim Kwee Kiat ;)
Few years to climbing, i am always believe that Mountain is a very mystery place. Not everyone want to visit, they are allowed. But rather to say they choose who they allowed to visit. When everyone reached Laban Rata at that moment, I am feel pleasure and release the tension. I know, atleast today we have meet the very good weather at Mount Kinabalu. As i believe we 25people, have bring a good heart and without any bad intention to come here. "Leave nothing but footprint and memory" always keep in my mind.
By June 6, 2.00am - We have confirmed can go up to the Peak with a good weather condition!!! The good news are really make us happy. Cause waiting for so long, finally we are near our dreams. All the way up, we need another 3hours staircase climb again. Even with an exhausted body, tiny oxygen, sour leg condition. But, i am tell myself this pain it just temporary. No matter what i still need to proceed, everyone are waiting us at the Top.
"Let's move, ah pang where are you?We want to reached soon", "Bee Suan, are you alright?","Where is Fu Yaw and Miing Rueng?", "How is Chian Nii?". "How about Monica? walk with Ah Chong it is?"."Where is Jimmy now?" all the statement above i still can remembered clearly on time around 4am. This word are all come out from Laosi. She is always make sure all of us are walked together. And to makesure we are in the safe mode. That is our beloved ODA Advisor, Ms Lim Kwee Hoon - she is cool right? ;) She is the want to make us dream come true...In the main time, she need to make sure her "Er Ge" are in the good condition on his body for the whole KK trip as well.
Next, everyone know who is this great man?I guess not so much people know about him. Cause he is always low profile. Let me introduce him... He is Ms Lim 2nd Brother, One of Prudential Manager. Young Malaysia Movemen(YMM) National Vice President, Banting well- known person and etc. He has carry alot of mission in his shoulder.To lead every person around him to be a better person -Mr Lim Kwee Kiat. I am really praise on his very strong mentality. It is not a kidding, what he want to achieve in life, he really meant it. No matter in what condition as long as he has set the goals to achieve it. Before 30 minutes to reached Peak, he has ask me :"Pang, u think already?" i am blur and ask :"what u mean i think already?".He say:"To think what is u next dreams and goals. Make a wish here and to achieve it". Yes, you are right. i do make a wish here when at 8KM.
All i want to say is, Thank U!!! I always think that, how lucky i am. God is loves me, and it has bring me to know Lim Family's member. Both of the great leaders has make me change in my life, thought. And is my honourable to have a chance to achieve my dream at Mount Kinabalu with both of u.
For Mount KK members -Ng hsia Yin, Yeoh Wee Mei, Pang Swee Sing, Tan Jai Wong, Yap Boon Ping, Lim Chu Yee, Lee Kam Ying, Chiu Yu Shan, Wong Weng Kit , Lee Weina, Tan Wai Leong, , Yeoh Wei Chien, Wong Chun Mun, Tee Chee Siong, and Low Ching Chong.Congratulation all of u as well. I guess everyone of u learned some new lesson in you life. Anyhow, we keep the good memory and recieved positive energy always in our daily life. I hope we can go hiking for the coming days.
Finally, not forgot thanks for ODA Advisor - Ms Lim and all commitees who is work hard to ready Mount Kinabalu Expedition - Sian Seong, Miing Rueng, Bee Suan, Chian Nii, Monica, Jimmy. All of u effort, has produce a good outcome. No need say too much, we have common understanding on each others, we keep inside our heart. Good Job!!! Thanks and see everyone in coming trip!!!!
