2009 Dec 17 G.Ulu Sepat - G7 Completion

Prior to Ulu Sepat trip, many people ask :"Last G7, how you feel?" I can't answer it. After trip, many have congrates and asked me the same question, and I still unable to answer it but it is definitely a great 2009 closing for ODA with G7 completion - Congrates to ODA for 1st G7 Completion, especially to 2 main ODA G7 anchor - Pang Siew Ting and How Fu Yaw !!!! Thanks to both of you for carrying ODA Flag to the 7 x 7000ft' Mountains in Penisular Malaysia for the past 1 year. Lots of credits have given to the ODA who brought ODA flag to complete G7 cause they have been the frontline person who completed the ODA 2008/09 mission. If we look into more precisely, Actually the Completion Credits shall include All ODAs' and ODA Friends who have gone throug the whole G7 process together.
Here is the flash back :-
2008 - G.Chamah (PST, HFY, ACN, ABS)
2008 - G.Yong Yap (PST,HFY,ACN,YMR, GSC,CPK,LCS)
2009 - G. Yong Belar (PST,HFY,ACN,YMR,SSS,GSC,THW,YYJ,CPK,ERICA,LCL,AGNES,AMELIA,YKC)
2009 - G.Tahan (PST,HFY,YMR,GSC,SSS,THW,YYJ,CPK)
2009 - G. Korbu & Gayong (PST,HFY,SSS,ABS,ACN,GSC,LV,LWK,LSS,CPK,TJW,CHY)
2009 - G. Ulu Sepat(PST,HFY,SSS,KKX,ABS,LV,LWK)

For most of the people, completing G7 is the stage of the where we printed our footstep on every G7 peak. For my perspective, completing G7 is a remark of a person involvement on the Whole Planning, After Trip Recovering, Each Process Learning Lesson, Crossed Over on Each Obstacle, Self Evaluation, Inspiration,  Believing Power and most importantly - Gaining the Blessing and the Whole Team Support Behind the Scene.
For each ODA and friend mentioned above - My sincerce appreciation to you on your support, blessing for helping ODA complete the mission !!!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!
The sucess story of ODA on G7 completion came from an idea, dream and turn it into reality. This reality had came with a great price which in order to complete the mission, we have spent a sum of RM 20,000 ++. It's quite a large sum for the whole mission, I believe that this sum of amount is worth it as it has built each of ODA that involved in the whole mission completion process become a Great Human Being.
G. Ulu Sepat - Consider the least challenges G7, but it has given ODA the biggest challenges compare to the rest of the G7. The challenges was came from externally where the guide we have engaged with the group of S.O.S cancel on us 20 hours prior we start the expedition with the reason of bad weather and no 4 wheel drive. Until today, it is a mist to me on the real reason of cancellation. As for all that been to any of the G7 before, S.O.S notes on G7 completion can be seen in all of the G7 peak, a team that able to complete G7 and able to guide other team to G7, should be a reputable and creditable team. But the last minute cancellation without discussion somehow have shaken the reputation of SOS team. Hopefully the guide who represented S.O.S will re-think on "Individual decision has defeated the whole team's years of hard work on gaining the market reputation and team's image"

Upon received the cancellation in mid-night, Sian Seong, PST and Fu Yaw started to search for last minute options that we have. Lots of sms discussion among us going on and finally with the help of good person - Ah Meng, who until today we still never met, but he has given ODA lots of other G7 info throughout the whole year.... we managed to get confirmation on other 4 wheel driver, boatman and guide, 1 hour before we suppose to depart. Along the way to Ipoh, heavy rainfall and foggy highway has alarm us on upcoming challenges we will face when on boat at Termenggor Lake, 4 wheel on muddy trail and in the jungle later.
8 of us have created a funny scene to others which we have put on the raincoat to keep our body warm while boating for 2 hours due to heavy rain and strong wind  except Lim Vui who is most of the time choose to be naked.
On 2009 Dec 19th,12.30pm - ODA Flag has once again rise on one of Penisular Malaysia G7 Peak and had marked ODA G7 completion.
Heavy rain while we reached Ulu Sepat peak didn't give us much time to release our G7 completion breath hence the heavy rain had alarmed us that we should descend quickly before the river water risen. the 30 minutes hiding under the flysheet has reminded me some of ODA previous G7 and Pre-Tahan trip such as heavy rainfall on 2008 Yong Belar Peak, Yong Yap Peak, 2009 Batu Putih Peak, 2009 Gedong Campsite, 2009 Korbu Peak. Each heavy rainfall scene appear pieces by pieces in front of me ; The scene on when we passed JD along to each other, hiding under flysheet, seeing the ODA guys ran out from flysheet in order to get something from backpack ; Scooped out the pounding water inside the dome; Sitting on Sleeping Mat to prevent pants get wet while cooking; Passing hot Milo to each other although sometimes really wish to hold on the warm cup longer on our palm but "The Cares of each other always able to Defeat "Individual Selfishness"  Whenever all these scene appear, I always able to feel warm in my heart and misses everyone.
Last night at Ulu Sepat, we have talked about "What Next" in our life. Some have shown interest in Iron Man Competition, to test out another type of endurance, to test out whether we can cross the finish line as Iron Man or Tofu Man? Some suggest that we should do Trans Titiwangsa V1, V2 and V3 now onward to test out the other type of G7 endurance. Some suggest that we should start explore East Malaysia's mountains. Lots of suggestions, but something for sure is ODA = Mountain Climbing. Completion of G7 is another new Begining of ODA Journey!!!!
Thanks to ODA for giving me the chance to visit G.Ulu Sepat at last.
Although severve weather had added some challenges to our 2009 Ulu Sepat Expedition,
But the Supports and Blessing from ODAs, Friends and Family have given me the STRENGTH to PROCEED and
 COMPLETE G7 after 17 Years!!!!

Pooi Kuan, if you were with us at Ulu Sepat that day.... "Publishing a Book" will be in "What Next" discussion... hahaha
Will be even more meaningful if you were part of it that day.... It's really a great trip.
Hopefully Another 8 years, will start to write something regarding to this activity. Not thinking of publishing, but just something for everyone who happen to hike together all these years....
