Hi all... I am AhSia here... here i am writing another blog about ODA's trip which i have been a loyal supporter all this while. This time this is Taman negara trip on
7th to 9th March 2009 last week.
This blog will be a bit negative so i hope readers will be matured and understanding enough to take my blog ranting as my personal point of view. No bias to whoever whatsoever. So i would like to apologize to those who i may not knowingly 'hurt' them thru this blog of mine.
First of all... this is my 3rd Taman Negara trip wit ODA...And It was a disastrous 1st night as it rains damn heavily!!!! The day before they(Taman NEgara) have flood so all clean water is disrupted and thus... we face difficulties to eat as most of the stalls dun have enough clean water to cook. And the situation become worse when we got around 60 - 70 participants who are hungry.... and here is the 1st point of my ranting....(jus my point of view....)
-A big group of us.... 50 something participants are waiting eagerly inside one of the restaurant terapung waiting for dinner when suddenly ODA committee says 'later we will drive car out to eat.. who wan follow?"
All hell break loose as more than 40 people follow ODA back. Only my gang and Gabrielle gang( 9 or 10 people) guai guai sit inside the restaurant waiting for the very salty dishes.
- Without any warning... torrential rains start to pour down... and we of coz feel glad cos we make a wise decision to stay in the restaurant while the 40 people who follow ODA may get caught in the rain.
-After one and half hour... we have our salty dinner... we run back to our campsite and i was shocked when i found out that the 40 participants who were wit us earlier still haven eaten yet outside the girls' dorm.
- During that time....ODA committee were singing karaoke and 'goreng' french fries, drumsticks, chit chatting happily away.... Oblivious to the state of participants... that incident really minus a lot of points for ODA
- only FuYaw and Ee Jin were talking to participants trying to lift up their mood.
- ODA is under a big pondok..... most of the participants were crammed in front of the girls' dormitory either standing or sitting. Some of the participants doesn't even know whether got people tapau dinner or not....
- When we enquire from ODA whether we participants can hang out in the pondok together wit ODA as it is wet and crammy.... we were given the cold shoulder("What For???"....
2nd point of view
- ODA seems to treat the bunch of Singaporeans better than the rest of the participants.. on the 2nd day we(room 10, 11 and 12 ) wan to went back to guys dorm which was 5 mins drive or 20 mins walk away to get our kitchen utensils for cooking. we wan to borrow the Van... ODa says no need... jus borrow others utensil to eat. Fine wit us... Suddenly....
When Connie(one of the singaporeans) and her fren wan to go bath in our guys DOrm(the 5 mins drive away)...
they were given the green light to go and A CAR....
-Special service for them? Beside the girls dorm there are public bathrooms... all of the gals uses those but why they can go to the guys dorm for their bath?
-I dare to say that most of the particpant dunno the names of the Singaporeans... they never take part in group breakfast or lunch(they tapau outside) they never take part in karaoke(sleep in the room oledi) they do group activity among themselves.... not wit their other group members...
And ODA's vision is to foster togetherness between the participants.... Only we can sense the presence of AAron.. the rest.... dunno
3rd Point of view...
The drive car back from Taman Negara...
Ricky's car, kent's car and Zhi Hong's car...
we are the 3 last car to come out of Taman Negara and we were whistling along when suddenly we were informed that we already drive the wrong direction...
after we drive more than half an hour towards the KL direction.
no one informed us which way to go earlier... so normally we drive back the route we took when we came taman negara. Half an hour is a precious commodity... ODa need to be more informative with their plans.....
Jus my suggestion to ODA..
1) pLs mingle more with participants during trips....you are creating a gap between ODA and particpants....
2) Pls be more sensitive towards participants needs..
3) No double standards...... We are not G**Ern**t who favours M**lims more(my point of view from my politic standard... later kena sue)...
4) pls revise the price for future oDA trips or maybe... maybe you can practise transparency on the pricing.......
Anyway... My purpose coming to this trip is to let my girlfren and her bro to see the nature, surroundings and also... ODA.
And sadly to say... they have the same sentiments as me... and i know that some of the participants feel the same way too...
Anyway... no hard feelings towards me ODA...
jus my point of view towards you all oni...
there is still room for improvement...

I'm totally agreed with you, it was really ironical to witness committees were singing karaoke, 'goreng' french fries while participants standing outside the girls' dorm, wet, hungry and like headless chicken didn't know what to do.
We can see from this trip that ODA didn't even know how to handle unexpected situations like heavy rain, water shortage and so on. I really hope that ODA will take this lesson seriously, and learn something from it as there is always room for improvement.
Last, thanks FuYaw and other guy(sorry, I can't remember your name) who tried to help us and gave food to us while we were waiting for the food. You two minimize my disappointments on ODA.

Another case>..u saying tat other committe is not bother other participant during the raining day???they oni play...cook...and enjoy themself???waloa e~may i noe how old r u a???u reli cant feel tat they all trying to make the circumstance 'hot' so we all wont so boring?/???who willing to dance under rain??do u??if yes y dn u do it tat day??futhermore who u think tat all the ODA committe is?the god??who know tat day will rain???or u think tat the ODA committe able to control the weather??haha...it is so funny!!!!
ANd for the 2nd main point u list i reli feel tat u r so childish~y r u so care who hv the nice treatmenr from which side???if u reli nid tis type of servis...u no nid come for camping la...jz go genting o wat and book a five stars hotel to stay la...i'm sure tat will giving all the thing u wan~n u no nid to blame for anything~giv u some advice la~if u wanna to do something~pls dn keep muttering or blame someone~if u wan to complain o wat~pls~dn do anything~jz stop...

and pls la... ever since i follow ODA during my first Taman Negara i already liked them... that is why i follow them go for various Mountain climbing... i sleep in the tent.. i sleep outside... anywhere also i can sleep... i am a big pig as you can see during Taman Negara last time....
I am not game for 5 star treatment..... we outdoor kaki anywhere also can sleep...
ALso the purpose i am commenting in the blog is jus to let ODA know my point of view....
I am sure ODA knows the way my style of talking... my style of thinking and my style writing...
I have been a faithful ODA supporter since 2, 3 years ago...
but one thing keep nagging me is..

Noname, people won't spend so much time & words just to say the event bad. Open your eye, do you think is just Ah Sia the only one to complaint it ?? I guess not. I have no grudge for ODA but seriously this is the bad.
What Ah Sia said is true, it wasn't direct to anyone but I can see you direct to Ah Sia. Waiting ppl eat finish dinner is been courteous. If you think that is a burden then you not been taught well by your parent.
All I can say if is this trip organize by ODA,money had paid to ODA, ODA had to responsible for matter arise. Simple as that.
If group of people going to complains to registrar, you can kiss your ODA goodbye

There is some problem in this Taman Negara trip this time so hope ODA can rectify it and at least dun have the same problem again for the future trips......

Ah Sia, first of all, i just want to let you know that, in your blog, you sounds very fake... Mentioned in the blog that it is only your point of view and no bias to whoever whatever... Walaoe, what i saw in your blog is like queer ODA for all the things..
the first nite, the restaurant people not even serve us after we sit there for so long time. Of course we will follow ODA go after heard that outside got food since the restaurant doesn't want to do our business. Come on larh~~ In your blog although didnt write out, but in my opinion, you sounds like we all make a wrong decision to follow ODA go out. On that time, what's appear in my mind is that if i still sit and waiting in the restaurant, I don't even know whether i will get any food. Of course i will follow ODA larh.One more thing i wanna tell you, you think the chef is in the big restaurant is it? 50 people food need to pack plus heavy rain plus no water supply, you think it is possible for them to prepare it within a short period??
Another thing want to correct you is, that night not only Fu Yaw and Yee Jin talking to us, some more have Chee Shen, Siew Ting and Hui Wen them... I think you should change your spec already...
And i think you got bring your 'DARLING' and one more guy go to the pondok singing, doesn't you?
I have no comments on the van since i don't know what's happen...
Regarding the 3 car that go to the wrong way when coming back, I think ODA has done good enough in the info.
Your suggestion, I have no mood to comments on it BUT i have to tell you one statement, If you feels that ODA not transparencing the price, why don't you participate in outside trip which will practise transparency in pricing and cost you RM500??? They will list out the room charges, Reataurant and activity charges and etc...
One word to say, FAKE!!!!!

During the restaurant thingy... Me and Gabrielle went to the kitchen to talk to the lady chef in preparing the food for you all... go ask Gabrielle la...
We ask her to prepare the *salty*(that night's dinner damn salty) food for all ppl which is nearly 50 people... And we already tell the tables of participants to wait patiently for food to be served as it involves lots of people...
and when ah Seong/ahshen(dunno which one come, sorry) come to ask whether you all wan to tapau outside food..... Zoom!!! 90% of you straight away lari together wit him...
Hello......... we already spoke to the lady chef to prepare food....
she already go find meat, veges and rice and mee and kueytiaw that is enough for 50 people....
and suddenly... left around 10 people there only.....
*annoyed* i already told the tables of participants that the lady chef will try to serve food asap... after all agree to wait...
suddenly ODA committee datang ask..
you all lari.... never bother to think at all.....

ODA has faced some problems during their Taman Negara trip.... these problems sooner or later will arised in any organizations...
now the challenges has come... how is ODA going to rise against it?
with the future open trips....
i really hope that ODA already improvise on their problem solving power already...
I been checking this blog everyday...

You seem to be one of the ODA committees, because I saw you created a blog (Same content) under the account "We are ODA" and somehow that blog is removed with unknown reasons.
Anyway, here are somethings I would like to add.
As an organizer, surely, ODA committees had put numerous efforts for preparing the trip. Unfortunately, in reality, like old Chinese says, "10years preparation just for one 10 minutes show", we as participants we only judge from that 10 minutes show, not the 10years preparation. You may say that is cruel, but this is a fact of life. You got to accept this point before reading the rest of this comment.
When customers(participants) complaining their purchased items, as sellers (ODA), sellers must accept negative feedbacks, fake or not fake is not really important. There are three things sellers can do with the negative feedbacks,
1. Admit the mistakes, learn from the mistake and avoid the mistake next times.
2. If found fake negative feedback, swallow it and thanks the one who giving feedback. And don't forget to encourage customers to give more feedback next times.
3. or ignore the feedback completely, and argue with the customers. This is unprofessional, because by doing that you will lost the customers forever. If you say, "I DON"T care", nothing much I can say then. This act also discourage "shy" customers to give feedback, so sellers never know if their products are good or bad. From my several trips with ODA, I knew some of the ODA committees can't accept negative feedback, that's why I rarely give feedback, because it is pointless...It is sad!
Accepting criticisms is never been an easy task, but the more criticisms you've accepted the more mature you will be.
I like ODA's spirit, and I hope the people behind it are mature & professional!

Just to tell you that I am not ODA committee... Just a friend of them. I believe ODA will not do this kind of thing(using others name to shoot one person). After see ah sia's blog, feel very angry because i saw them work so hard for it and ah sia just talk and talk and talk and queer all the things at ODA.
And i don't want to have quarrel with you, so no comments in your paragraph...
Ah Sia, one more thing wanna let you know, you say you ady tables of participants that food will be serve asap, but i didn't know about it, are you sure everybody know about it? i don't think so...
