BUJANG MELAKA TRIP 31APRIL -2 MAY2010 (n.n)

By H3 M3n....

Gunung Bujang Melaka, despite it's name is situated in Kampar, Perak . The height of this mountain is unique, being 1234m high

hi all my follows, how's was your body after the trip? haha~~ for me...I donno this is how many times i join oda trip liao . But every times I join, I always found the 1st time I been see. May be because of meet new friends? Or because of try other ways to climb? Or even is because I become one of the group leaders in this trip? I donno, u tells me…

During this 3 days 2 nights trip, I notice that many of them are so passions although they are 1st time join this kind of trip. I wonder since when was the last time I had this kind of passion? Working? Studying? Chase gal (perhaps haha)? Sometimes I might thinking am I getting older, or stamina getting lower, however when I saw ms lim, the advisor, I feel that she never say these kind of thing….

Anyway, thanks to all boys and gals because u let me see many thing for good. And I be very appreciate during this 3 days 2 night with u all…climb together, speak loud together, even though sleep together..(boy dome only hehe) that’s make a lot of fun and joyful to everyone. I sure u all are enjoying, don’t u?

wonderful Gunung Bujang Melaka trip

By Phei Ying....
This is my second trip with ODA,

Which I have totally not expecting I’ll be joining ODA again,
As the date of the climb grew nearer, I started to have a strong feeling of fear..
Feeling stress-Pre-hiking stress, and even my parents doubt my ability
Well, now I can actually say that ,I have soooo much fun in this trip
Difficult, exhausting, painful, and the very unfriendly coldness

Cant even have a good night sleep after a tiring day due to the extremely low temperature +when u only have all the wet shirts n sleeping bag beside u!!

It’s a good chance to get myself mentally and physically trained
This time I have even more fun than the last one
All the people in this trip are friendly enough
So happy to know more friends

Overall I have to say that it is very good
The trip planning, the meal ,the guidance……..

It was absolutely tiring,
But when you’ve finally completed the journey, the feeling is priceless
And I feel damn good about it..
I’ve learnt a lot…a lot of things in this trip, (cooking perhaps XD)
Learnt how to not giving up in a bad condition, etc etc.

I have to thank a million for many people like,

Sianseong for inviting me to this trip
People who need to carry doom for us when their backpacks are already that heavy
People who fetch us to the destination safely ignoring the tiredness
Thanks for caring…..sincerely thanks to whoever assisted me in the trip
And if I have given any troubles , I humbly apologize =)

Cant believe i did it again,
What a wonderful trip!!!

Great day!!!

Gunung Bujang Melaka

Hi guys.. I'm Cheryl / Xue Er and this is my first time with ODA. After harassing Sian Seong for some time, he finally remembered to invite me to join him. So, thX SS. :) I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been scratching myself non stop since Sunday. All because of the 20+ leaches. And you know what i found out? We're not supposed to pull out those leaches by hand because the suckers will break off under our skin. And that's whats causing the irritation! What we should have done is apply some salt to the leach and it will just drop off. My mum said , 'Who's the smart elec who told you that!' Hehe... SS?

I would say this trip was super enjoyable! The first time sleeping in a dome was... couldn't sleep. 1st night : Too hot!! 2nd night : Freezing!! I wish I have that 'off' switch which most guys have to just turn off their brains. Now, cooking is where I had the most fun. Yum Yum :P Especially during the 2nd night where we cooked together with Group 3. Of course, there were some additives like sand (crunchy) and bugs (protein) which contributed to the Yum Yum part.

Oh I forgot to mention about the climbing itself! Well, despite falling twice on my butt, I had a lot of fun challenging myself. But next time I'll remember to wear hiking shoes instead because the Reebok I wore, is in the trash can now... By the way, thanks again to Sian Seong and Chian Ni and Yi Ming who helped me when i fell.

I was really surprised when working adults and students alike who have never met each other, could come together, all with a common interest and help each other throughout the trip. And this is all thanks to ODA! I wonder who was the genius who founded it:) Can't wait for the next trip!!!

Now, feedback done! Can't wait to get my CD :D

Gunung Bujang Melaka

By Eng Wah...
It's 11pm at the night,as usual, i'm sitting in front of my computer like every other people in the city...Anyhow, what if you are in the tropical forest at this moment? No internet, no phone line, no advanced entertainment....It's the moment for you to listen to the nature symphony, exploring the messages beared with it...
I've been spending 3 days 2 nights in the tropical rain forest (it's really a RAIN forest). Well, it's not my first time to overnight in the jungle, but it definitely is a special experience to me.
Everything is back to the nature. No water filter, it's naturally filtered by the waterfall and stream flow; there wasn't any furnished kitchen cabinet for you to prepare your meal, all was done on the muddy map; it's your show time to exhibit your cooking creativity and talent! You don't have to regulate your aircond temperature to 16 degree celsius; the night wind was cold enough to make you shivering in your wet sleeping bag! What more- you might be caught in the sudden heavy rain at 5am in the morning while you are lying on the road, where you might be jumped out from your dream to find the "limited edition" shelter. Well, all this are the new salts that enhancing the taste of your young undying life!
Hiking up and down the mountain was challenging your cardio and musculo, yet, you need to carry another kgsssssss backpack on your broaden shoulders, along with the nature shower from the sky, yeah, "if you think you can, you can",and we did it! You were physically and mentally challenged, and it's the way for you to grow indeed, and the most important thing is that you are not alone, you have your ready-to-help buddies who went through all these with you. It was our linked memory, and we'll always be linked!
At this moment, at this city, there is'nt any sound of the crikets; in fact the crikets are just too small to echo their whispers in front of the giant engines of lorries, autocars or even motorbikes...Good night, mother nature.

Memorable G.Bujang Melaka !

老师,没有你,就没有今天的我们
This sentence is absolutely correct...

Besides that, thank you very much for every committees who helped out in this trip, How Fu Yaw, Jimmy, Ang Chian Ni, Monica and also ANG BEE SUAN. Although Bee Suan not joining us for this trip, but she helped us a lot during the preparation...Thank you for all your effort. 30/4-2/5 bujang melaka trip feedback

By Siu Kat....
hi there, this is my second trip since last time the gunung irau. Well wat shd i say...compare wit the last time we go, major diff will be here got leech!!! lucky i din kena la, but is the plant which has thorn, ya thx for that, get some wound but wont be the trouble for me. unlike the irau, here is much more like walking up seldom use hand to hold smt to climb. althought like tat but still i get more tired becoz thr is seldom rest point to rest and only...

As the result, this time i getting more painful and wound of my body. U see the more
thing we do is keep walking, catch the leech from our body, beware the thorn.... thr also got alot of bees but seldom harm ppl 1 la.... and the water supply we take from the river as the journey until the campsite got few spot point able to take the water so we din bring much bottle like last time la...

here's my group member: sian seong, our group leader,
Adrian, who has the strong muscle in the group( i think), Arnold, adrian friend, don't always say u weak coz i might be the 1 who is weak than u haha, Pauline, a lovely lady who 'help me absorb' all the leech (i think also haha), xue er, nice gal although i not much talk with her(better than say nth la hehe)...lastly the 3 expect man who is ms lim invite to help...still i not so well to remember their name, however i also wanna to say thank you

during this trip, in Saturday night, we done a mistake: in this trip, our adviser, ms lim, has invite some of her friends to help for guide this trip and assign them with us. when prepare the dinner, we mistaken that they already ate at 4pm something but we wrong. Get 'scold' by ms lim say about the team work and not responsible/respect other people. I think is a good opportunity to learn the lesson de, as we din communicate enough/well before we do the things. In the trip, not only the discipline, team work, but also respect and communicate as we don't know what they actually thinking. And i wish in the future, the people who watch this will take as example and won't be make the same mistake again....

This is by far the first most toughest challenge for me in my 20's. well, what can i say?its not easy, its not hard as well, for a lot of people, they might say that this is just a waste of time, why ODA? why the wilderness?Staring into the night sky, gazing at the stars and moon, all of these were there for a reason. For the 3 days, its so unbelievable at first when i started looking at the path into the deepest fear of my life. the path into the deep jungle. Its not a pleasant feeling though. After all the hardship that we've gone through,as a team, as a friend, we've deepen our faith in ourselves, in each other that this is not just a climb, its something more. Something that we know when we say it out loud, only those who has been together and has gone through will understand. Deepest gratitude to ODA, and everyone that we have made the trip perfect. it will be a new beginning for me to be closer to the wilds.
