Gunung Berembun, is always been confused by many hikers that it is located at Cameron Highlands. In fact, there are three Mountains with the name of Gunung Berembun in Malaysia which located at Jelebu, Cameron Highlands and Dungun, Terengganu.
ODA is fortunate enough to be introduced by the Gunung Tahan guide about this mountain during our expedition to Gunung Tahan @ Merapoh on 2012 June. It was still been remembered well that it was a short conversation with the guide on our way out to Kuala Juram.
Guide : Pernah pergi G.Berembun kat Terengganu?
ODA : Tak pernah lagi
Guide : Kena pergi, tempat tu best, air terjun tinggi.
ODA : OK, kami akan cuba.
It is a new mountain to us as we have only visited one East Coast Malaysia Mountain - Gunung Stong before although we've been involved in hiking activity for several years.
Lots of research and phone calls done by trip leader within the few months for trip information as well as gather all the reachable hiking members who we've not seeing each other for years, as it will be something new than previous expedition and magnificent scenery ahead is awaiting.
It is in fact quite a hectic process as time constraint and communication break down some times during the research stage. My appreciation to our trip leader - ODA Ong Phei Ying for the hard works, insist and persistent to enable each of us enjoyed and experienced the different mountain's terrains and geographical formation beside the usual Titiwangsa mountains range we've visited, as well as my appreciation to ODA committees for their helps and assistantship to once again completed and added a new destination to each of us - You gals are awesome !!!!!
Upon reaching Camp Balak after 3 hours of up and up all the time, we're stunned by the tranquillity and the calm, crystal clear river, fish can be seen beneath the stir-less still water. It is a place we wish to stay longer to experience the natural quiet in the woods, but the "Go" is a must as our targeted destination is still hours to go.
Journey towards G.Berembun peak, is another sensational scenery along the trail to reach the exact highest point. The dry soil, disperse trees, scarcity of strapping tall tree, montane forest formation is something new to us, we are approaching close to G.Berembun Peak and We're definitely at Malaysia East Coast Forest.
Scenery gets even better as journey continue, the supposed just 30 minutes descending from G.Berembun Peak toward Camp Langsir had multiplied by 3. Among the 10 person who takes our time to descend slowly and stop at most of the unique spot, admiring the greenish color of the river, snapping as much photo as we could.
It's definitely worth the whole day long 8 hours hike from park entrance till Camp Langsir - We're situated at Dinosaur World despite there're approximately another 100 over hikers were there too to enjoy this fine piece of earth. The extremely icy cold water is way beyond the expectation upon we dipped ourselves into the river, it didn't stop any of us to taste and feel the coldest of the river. After all, it is a long way to get to this fine land, and it will be a huge regret if every piece of this priceless land didn't be experienced to its fullest.

It is another 6 hours, several time up and down hills from Camp Langsir to Chemerong Watrefall. Finally, the tallest waterfall that been recorded in Malaysia is appearing tall in front of us. The magnificent scenery right in front of our eyes had given us an energy of stillness even though with its gigantic loud water sound, never stopping its flow from upper till the bottom. It is a waterfall that we can static our eyes and remain cataleptic for hours, admiring and applauding for the esoteric beauty of nature.
The 4 days looping around G.Berembun - Camp Langsir - Chemerong Waterfall expedition had given us the optimum satisfaction on tranquillity and greenery forest. The Precipitation in the woods/forest had rejuvenated and recharged each of us to once again strive and endeavor for our life.
Till we meet again,
Each single piece of the land will be remembered well;
and each of the 15 faces will be missed much,
It is always an honor to hike with each of you.
