G7 - G.Korbu & G.Gayong 26th Nov - 30th Nov 2009

。谢谢老师Ms.Lim, Trip Leader Andy, Pang , Fu Yaw , Sian Seong , Chian Nii。
FireMan。。
Mr Botak - Terima Kasih Guide Kita Jalan dan Share ur Mountain experiance History.

最后, 希望大家早日康复,Ulu Sepat 见吧。

Gunung Korbu and Gayong Expedition

This is another great history created by everyone. We have successfully visit one of the toughest G7- Gunung Korbu and Gayong and everyone are return safety!!!

Every G7 Mountain, have it own specialty and unique part. As for Korbu and Gayong, the first part is the two hours walk in tar road. However, this two hours walk we can enjoyed the nice view of dam beside us.The scenery are just nice, and i feel great to be here!!!

All the way, we can see some of the signboard which is not proceed over 30km/j.Of course we know this is for car or motorcycle awareness, however we still play around among us.Tell everyone not walked more then 30km/j.If not will "kena saman"..This is a joke which make everyone laugh all the way up..

Mountain Climbing sometimes seems like serious activity for some people, however i found out that this is another way for people to release their stressful when at city.During climbing, we create a lot of joke and make some common joke language among us. Like: "G punya M got S"!!! or "FY LSL"!!! Beside playing around and laugh, we make our cell brain active again to think what it is all about. To test the level of common understanding among us.

In this trip, we can see all the members are very strong mentality and physical to complete this toughest trip.Simpson, Vivian and Wai Kit are do their part to go Gunung Nuang and Bukit Tabur training before join the expedition. This is something good for them which i want to mentioned. As they know mentality is important, however have to pick up the physical level too. Therefore, they went to training.End up the good result, they can proceed with very fast way, independent.Thumbs up!!! Keep up your fitness ;p

As for Han Yuk, Pooi Kuan I am really solute both of you too. Han Yuk carry with 1 Dome + 5 bottles x 1.5L Water. However he still can proceed in very fast way and step with very firm. Pooi Kuan, one person carry 4 x 1.5L Water up! Really not a joke! But both of you really make me feel proud ya!!!

Jai Wong - Thank you for join our trip after consider so long and thanks for carry your Proffesional Camera to trip yaa!!! It is not easy to carry up to mountain, because it is heavy. But, u have make it and help us catch up alot of nice picture!!!

At last, i am would like to take this opportunity to special thanks to ADV - Ms Lim, TL - Andy Goan, GL- How Fu Yaw and others committees Mr. See,Ms. Chian Nii and Ms.ABS who have make this trip successful as well.It is a wonderful trip with all you help and present.Feel great to hiking with all of you this few years.

Thanks to our guide - Botak!!!! Yet with "hair"...

Looking forward to hike with everyone in coming trip!!!

Korbu and Gayong 2009 Trip

First time visit Gunung Korbu....it is a tough mountain... River crossings, walking alongside the ridge, vertical climb, slipery rock uphill, long distance of journey....not water source at peak...agas.....muddy trails....thats why i suggested pre Tahan training we could do it to Korbu and Gayong. The person who pass this mountain test sure will have no problem going to Tahan....haha..
But overall i enjoy this mountain as it test our own limits...sure to come back to this mountain...

Still remember the time when speedup after the Nescafe by laushi, almost 'pitam' because of LSL - Low Sugar Level...while Seong experience the dizzy....luckily saved by ah Pang sugar sweets.....Pang and Seong, the final night i really pitam out....could not recall back what i have said that time..really paiseh haaha....

Last but not least to thank Andy for organizing this trip and thanks to Lausi, Pang,Seong,Chianni and Beesuan for making this trip a good one.
Also thanks to group members that give me alot of cooperation. Special thanks to Pooi Kuan also, that helped me alot during my absence from the group....
Simpson and Vivian - Can carry alot...and not cold on the first 2 days.....
Pooi Kuan - Help out alot in managing group...thanks alot
Hanyuk- Can carry some amount of loads...but still left out some items to bring....
Jaiwong - Brought your camera this time, but got water in the lens..have to take care of it ya.
Wai kit - Help out alot during hiking time
Thats all for now.....See you soon!!!

Gunung Korbu & Gayong

Gunung Korbu and Gayong, definitely a tough trip for me!!! Listen to Lao Shi say that, this is the second tough trip among G7 after Gunung Tahan. Congratulates to everyone for being successful reach to the peak and come back safely.
Thanks to everyone for helping me, waiting me and load items from me during the trip. During this trip, EL alots. For many times, I am the last one to reach, until the guide cannot tahan me, I become the guide at last, a fail guide who always go to the wrong trail. Feel apologize to those who follow behind me for took the wrong trail or wait behind me...
Simpson, Wai Kit, Vivian, Han Yuk, Jai Wong and Pooi Kuan, you all are very "赞"!!! Simpson, Vivian and wai Kit, you three always walk together. And the moment walk with you guys, sure there will be no silent moment. You guy sing songs, joking and talking, it's happy to walk with you guys. Although the backpack is heavy, but you guys still carry on walking. Han Yuk, a thin guy but with heavy load in backpack. I am so suprise know that you carry a dome plus 6 litre water in your backpack. You didn't slow down your step although with such loads!!! Jai Wong and Pooi Kuan, thanks for waiting me and walk together with me during going back at tar road. And also thanks for shooting many good photos and memorable moments.

Of course, not forget to thanks ODA. Adviser, Lao Shi, President, Pang, TL, Andy, GL, Fu Yaw, Sian Seong and Bee Suan. Thanks for organising and makes this trip a good one. It's always a great moment to gather together and climb mountain with you all. For many times, when I feel upset, I will look back our trip photo, the blog that everyone writes which makes me recall back the happy times with you all.
Also, have to thanks to our 'Botak' guide. Thanks for your help and guiding us to Gunung Korbu and Gayong...
This trip does mean something to me. It makes me think of many thing, and let me know more of myself, see more of myself. It's a different trip to me.I will re-visit this mountain agian...
Last but not least, thanks for everyone's guiding and help during the trip... I do enjoy the trip, hopes you all too ^.~

Heavy Rain Korbu - Gayong Nov 27 - Dec 1

15 years later, once again revisit Gunung Korbu. Along the trail to Korbu, everything seems new to me..... I can't recall any of the remark, campsite, trail condition, until the moment we step on Gunung Botak. Finally I remember for once I was sleeping about 1 hour at Gunung Botak before we reach Gunung Korbu Peak due to fever.

Korbu, in my memory is always a challenging mountain after G.Tahan. The long distance terrains, river crossing, edges trail, cold weather, sand flies...it is tough mountain, but after a week came back from Korbu, I started to miss this mountain again. I remember I said that I would never want to go back to Korbu again, but as for this moment, suddenly I feel it wasn't that bad at all....
After trip impact.... heel skin and nails almost peel off, leeches bite still itch, muscle still tense, backpack, hiking shoes and hiking clothes still unable to dry and body still exhausted after a week...... off and on still feel cold and most of the time feel like want to skip shower..... but I keep on viewing the photos posted by Pooi Kuan on facebook and started to miss everybody - Misses Pooi Kuan constant snapping photo for each of us even she is in tiring condition as well, amazed by her to carry 4 x 1.5 liter bottle of water even we told her to reduce the load, but she insists to give it  a try; thankful to her by helping out lots of group leader's tasks on leading and organizing their group. For the next coming 6 months, I am for sure miss her much in ODA trip while Pooi Kuan is travelling around New Zealand to fulfill her DREAMS!!!!
Another thing that Amazed me along the trip was the loads hat carried by Han Yuk, Simpson and Vivian..... and yet their speed was amazing. On the last 2 day, no matter how hard I tried, I was unable to catch up with them. Luckily they always waited for us on every check point, to check on last group condition and then they will proceed FAST !!!!
My apologize to Wai Kit, Simpson, Vivian, Pooi Kuan, Jai Wong and Han Yuk - Which suppose we should camp at Camp Seroja on last night, but due to I've been walking slow and we have to set up at Camp Kijang and have caused each of you feasted by sand flies. After trip, I get to know that Simpson had to visit doctor for injection to get rid of the itches. I can imagine the funny look on Simpson face when he visited the doctor. Really enjoy having Simpson and Vivian along in the trip which they're always good partner to create lots of jokes no matter in what condition.
Some of the Amazing and Joyful moments :-
1) Han Yuk carry 4 Men Dome +  5 x 1.5 Liter of Water
2) Wai Kit once again perform his heroism of assisting the last person to reach the destination, but some how I still not able to get him to assist me when I am walking slow...hahaha
3) Chian Nii managed to reach each checkpoint although she is sleeping while hiking most of the time...
4) Bee Suan set up fire even though it is raining
5) Last Water Point assembly line of filling up water
6) Penguin style hiding under the flysheet at Camp Botak
7) 13 person + 13 Backpack loading on Hilux
Highlight of the trip.... Of course it the GOoooooaaaL bounce by Vivian on PST.....It's definitely THE GOAL OF THE YEAR!!!

Personally, I do enjoy the moment when ODA speed up to chase back the lost hours after consumed  the Nescafe..... Sian Seong and Fu Yaw pushed themselves so hard until feel dizziness, Andy had to put on his knee guard, PST and ABS were following closely behind me. I feel thankful to each of them which they're making sure to be the 1st few to reach the Peak in raining condition to make sure flysheet and hot drinks been prepared for everybody. Next time, don't let me drink NESCAFE ya.... it will be another speeding moment...... most importantly, Thanks to each of you for watching my back, waiting for me and unload the items for me. I will make sure more suitable hiking shoes for myself in next mountain trip.
Heavy Rain at Korbu, is something we've expected - Overall, each of us have prepared well to face it. It's an enjoyable and interesting trip. In my heart, I do hope all of Korbu trip's members will once again try on Ulu Sepat, cause it's really great to hike with each of you. Korbu - Is among the G7 I enjoy a lot, Thanks for each of your present, Your Strong WILL POWER, GENEROSITY, HUMORS have once again added more color and joys in the trip. We will meet again - Stay Healthy, Happy and STAY Fit !!!!!

Expedition G. Korbu & Gayong 2009

Congratulation to all of us that we reached Korbu Peak and Gayong peak successfully!
This is not an easy expedition. Along the trail, the previous hiking memories came over to my mind. The up and down trail reminded me about Yong belar, still remembered that really hard time for me. The familiar face of one of the orang asli i met in this trip, reminded me the Yong Yap guide...finally agreed that he looked similiar, but he is not the YY guide as during descending, met him again at dataran pacat.

During ascending, Lao shi and ah pang keep going said that i was fast, now i understand that according to my age, (i am 3rd elder among the 13 teammates), I think I was consider fast;p. Unfortunately, I become EL when almost reached to Korbu Peak. So next time, please don't compliment me again. Because I was friend with balloon, staleness when time goes by..

Along the trip, really good to have Waikit, Simpson, Jaiwong and Vivian.Because of you, my journey become more cheerful and energetic. It is really good at the moment we walking out to the jungle together with Botak. I think it will more wonderful if 14 of us can walk out the jungle together. Although we were not walk out together,we were Hilux together to complete the journey! Hurray!

Group 2, Waikit, Simpson, Jaiwong, Vivian, Hanyuk and Fuyaw, again nice to group with you all. Looking forward to hike with your again. Thank you Group Leader Fu Yaw and HanYuk to prepare the nasi goreng for us. Han Yuk is amazing in this trip, dome plus 5 bottles of water plus leg pain due to skin sensitive but never complain a word. Thanks Simpson's jokes and great 80s songs dedication. You really our 'food of spirit'. Waikit and Jaiwong were very caring guys. Vivian become powerful during ascending to peak and descending after goal! Botak, our guide, such a friendly and funny guy.

Laoshi, Pang, ChianNi, Bee Suan, Andy, FuYaw and Sian Seong, I am glad that ended my 2009 ODA trip with all of you. Thank you the arrangement for this trip especially trip leader, Andy. All the best! I will miss your all during the coming 6 months.

G.Korbu & Gayong Nov 2009 !!

Another wonderful trip conducted by ODA. G.Korbu & Gayong Expedition !!
G.Korbu & Gayong, my next G7 trip after G.Tahan expedition at May 2009. From May to November is almost 6months...6months...After 6 months , finally i stepped into another G7 mountain.

Before I went to G.Korbu & Gayong, my final exam troubled me alot. But when i stepped into G.Korbu, I forget the stress arises from my exam, what I remember is....I must enjoy my trip !! Finally I did it !!After this trip, I realize that Hiking or sports are the best way for me to release stress.

G.Korbu & Gayong really not play play...I agree with lao shi that this is the toughest mount after G.Tahan. It also can be said that, G.Korbu is a easier version of G.Tahan...River Crossing, Long hours of Hiking,Heavy Loaded Backpack, and etc. all can be found in G.Korbu also. It was really a tough trip !!
However, everyone of us able to completed this trip successfully and return to KL safety, this shows that we wont give up easily !! Hope everyone can apply this 'mentality' on your daily life. It will make a lot of difference.

Along of the way, when we faced with bad weather or 'energy low', everyone of us still manage to create jokes especially Simpson and his gang, this make me felt that ODA participants are getting stronger. If compare to last time when they are still new in hiking, this kind of situation will surely affect their mood and make them ''black face''.

Last but not least, Thanks to every ODA committees. Thanks to Trip Leader, Andy. You did a great job on this expedition. I know you spent a lot of time on it, appreciate your effort. Keep it on !! Next, thanks to Lao Shi, Pang, Fu Yaw, Chian Ni, Bee Suan, thanks for helping me and guiding me during this trip...thanks alot...I enjoyed this trip very much...T.Y !!
